Biking
Flying down the trail
Dodging oncoming trees
Plowing through roots and rocks
With elegance and ease
The trail gradually widens
A dirt jump comes into perspective
Do I avoid the risk of injury
Or make it my objective
The jumps closing in
It’s too late to turn back
It’s evident I’ll crash
From the confidence I lack
Coasting through the air
On top of a metallic steed
Heading straight for a tree
It’s to late to recede
I awake in an ambulance
With a spoke in my arm
For it to be removed
Would cause too much harm
So here I lay in pain
Unable to remove this spoke from me
I will remember this day forever
As the day my bike became a part of me
Dodging oncoming trees
Plowing through roots and rocks
With elegance and ease
The trail gradually widens
A dirt jump comes into perspective
Do I avoid the risk of injury
Or make it my objective
The jumps closing in
It’s too late to turn back
It’s evident I’ll crash
From the confidence I lack
Coasting through the air
On top of a metallic steed
Heading straight for a tree
It’s to late to recede
I awake in an ambulance
With a spoke in my arm
For it to be removed
Would cause too much harm
So here I lay in pain
Unable to remove this spoke from me
I will remember this day forever
As the day my bike became a part of me
